Brian Dodds JP – President

Brian was commissioned as a JP on July 9, 1976 and has previously served as a Visting Justice. He currently attends a signing centre and has been on the RAJWA Council since 2022. He is a former Assistant District Director for the Department of Communities (Child Protection and Family Support), with whom he worked for 45.5yrs. He graduated from the former WA Institute of Technology (now Curtin University) in 1985 with a Bachelor of Social Work, after gaining a scholarship from the Department which allowed him to study full-time for four years. In 2008 he gained a Certificate 1V; Government: Statutory Compliance. He retired from the CPFS in March 2018 and since then has been working for Curtin University as a Sessional Academic, fulfilling the roles of either Field Education Liaison Office or External Social Work Supervisor. Brian is a member of the City of Perth Brass Band and has previously been the Bandmaster\Music Director of three bands (including the former Army Reserve Band Perth). He has also served as the President (and other positions) of three other not-for-profit organisations.
